Introduces new rules for registering work hours

Employers must implement a time recording system to ensure that employees’ working hours are tracked.¹ The main elements of the Working Hours Act state:

  • Employers can choose how the hours are tracked, however, their chosen system must measure each employee’s daily hours and be reliable and accessible.
  • The system must ensure that the employees are adhering to maximum working hours as well as rest periods.
  • The system must provide the employee with access to their own data.
  • Employers must ensure that the information is kept confidential and secure, adhering to GDPR regulations and kept for a maximum of 5 years.²
